“I really appreciate the Strategy Committee’s openness to meaningful collaboration. This process involves trade-offs and cooperation from all of the municipalities, and they are willing to talk about it openly together.”
THE HIGHLIGHTS:
A diverse group of stakeholders coming together to create a corridor improvement framework that will revitalize Mack Avenue, seeking to elevate its commercial and mixed-use viability. This project is the first known joint-planning effort for a border street shared by Detroit and any of its suburban neighbors.
WORTH NOTING:
In response to COVID-19, McKenna pivoted to an interactive online site for all public engagement, allowing community members to view, vote and comment on project ideas, recommendations and proposals, providing timely feedback in a fully virtual environment.
