Michael Boettcher, AICP
Senior Planner
Michael provides planning, zoning, and site plan review services to communities across Metro Detroit. Prior to joining McKenna, Michael administered HUD funds for community development in both Wayne and Macomb Counties. Michael also directed two downtown development agencies and worked in several planning and development roles with the City of Detroit Planning and Development Department.
A resident of Detroit, Michael has served on the city’s Historic Designation Advisory Board and participated in two Neighborhood Advisory Councils, representing the voice of the community in response to two major development proposals. Michael volunteers with the Michigan Association of Planning Metro Detroit Planners Section and moonlights as a tour guide, highlighting architecture, history, and redevelopment in Detroit. He holds a Bachelor of Geography and Master of Urban Planning Degree, both from Wayne State University.
