Kyle Mucha, AICP

Kyle Mucha, AICP, Principal Planner, is a suburban and rural planner with more than 12 years of experience in technical planning, development review, water resource management, public engagement, and land use facilitation.

Kyle partners with municipal leaders, community stakeholders, and residents to provide inclusive and sustainable development that promotes quality of life for all. Working with communities of all sizes across Michigan and the Great Lakes region, Kyle delivers equitable solutions to complex problems—most notably preserving the natural environment while upholding the rights of property owners, as established within municipal zoning ordinances.

His knowledge and hands-on experience with parks and recreation, utilities and GIS, and community development allow for a multi-faceted approach to advancing community goals.

Kyle has taught human geography at Lake Michigan College and has presented at Michigan Association of Planning (MAP) and Michigan Township Association (MTA) conferences. He has also facilitated discussions on renewable energy development for the American Planning Association (APA) Indiana Chapter and is a frequent guest speaker in the Introduction to Urban, Regional, and Environmental Planning course at Western Michigan University. In addition, Kyle serves on the APA Water Planning Network Steering Committee, collaborating with partners across the United States on sustainable water planning.

Kyle holds a Master of Arts in geography from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in social sciences from Grand Valley State University. He is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and has completed training through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Redevelopment Ready Communities program.
