Aayush Patel is a Project Planner and Designer specializing in downtown and corridor plans, zoning and form-based codes, and missing middle housing strategies. He helps communities create walkable, equitable, and sustainable places by translating local priorities into actionable plans and clear urban design concepts.

Before joining McKenna in 2023, Aayush worked as an architect in India, where he developed construction documents, coordinated with consultants, and managed high-end residential and large private-sector housing projects. This background grounds his planning work in constructability and detail, ensuring that designs are both visionary and practical. At McKenna, he has contributed to projects across the Midwest that integrate public input into actionable strategies, ensuring that planning outcomes reflect local priorities.

Aayush is skilled in GIS analysis, 3D modeling, rendering, and high-quality graphic production, creating compelling visuals that build stakeholder consensus. He is also experienced in public engagement, using community input to inform design decisions.

He holds a Master of City Design from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Architecture from Mumbai University.
