McKenna planners assisted Oshtemo Charter Township in developing a five year parks and recreation master plan after undertaking a thorough process of inventory, analysis, and public input collection. McKenna surveyed were conducted Township residents via mail as well as during visits to Township park facilities. From these results, the Township crafted priorities for future projects and goals for the next five years.
The Plan provided the Township a road map for the parks and recreation decisions for the next five years and beyond. The plan also made Oshtemo Charter Township eligible for funding through the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). The process taken to prepare the plan has given the Township a better understanding of its residents’ needs and desires for parks and recreation.
