PUBLIC CONSULTING TEAM MERGES WITH McKENNA ASSOCIATES TO ENHANCE PLANNING AND DESIGN SERVICES IN WEST MICHIGAN
(Kalamazoo, MI; August 7, 2007) Public Consulting Team (PCT) of Benton Harbor is merging forces with McKenna Associates, Inc., Michigan’s leading community planning and design firm, to bring the highest possible level of expertise and service to West Michigan communities. PCT’s outstanding record of assisting West Michigan communities in achieving their goals, combined with McKenna’s state-of-the-art resources and regional leadership will provide public officials in West Michigan with unprecedented practical planning, zoning, economic development, landscape architecture and public communication advice and support.
“Our new partnership lets us offer West Michigan leaders the best of both worlds: sensitivity to West Michigan’s unique development challenges, and best practices of the state’s top planners and designers,” said Phillip C. McKenna, AICP, PCP, President and CEO of McKenna Associates, Inc. “PCT has done an outstanding job serving counties, cities, villages and townships in southwestern Michigan over the past 18 years and this arrangement will build on and enhance that legacy.”
McKenna Associates, Inc. based in suburban Detroit’s Northville, Michigan, serves approximately 200 communities across Michigan and Ohio. President Phillip C. McKenna is a Michigan native, raised in a small town in central Michigan, and currently has the firm’s 40-plus employees located in five offices, all in downtowns. McKenna’s team includes community planners, landscape architects,
urban designers, and public participation and communication experts.
“McKenna has a stellar reputation for helping Michigan communities be the best they can be.” said PCT founder Charles (Chuck) R. Eckenstahler, AICP. “I’m thrilled that PCT’s clients will have access to the additional resources and expertise this new partnership provides.”
Eckenstahler will work alongside McKenna’s manager of West Michigan operations, Greg Milliken, AICP, and other McKenna team members to ensure continuity of service to PCT clients. PCT will continue to operate under its name for the present, with Eckenstahler leading client management through the transition. Eckenstahler, the Michigan Association of Planning’s 2006 Outstanding Professional Planner, will focus his consulting on farmland preservation and real estate economics.
The new partnership will take effect immediately with West Michigan clients being served from the Kalamazoo office, at 151 South Rose Street.
