METRO DETROIT PLANNER BUYS DIA MEMBERSHIPS FOR ENTIRE FIRM
Owner Looking for More Ways to Utilize Detroit
(Northville, MI; February 7, 2006) Inspired by the success of Super Bowl XL, and taking to heart city leaders’ call to keep the Motor City momentum rolling, a local employer is providing memberships to the Detroit Institute of the Arts for all of his employees.
“I think we were all proud to see Detroit shine so beautifully on the world stage,” said Phillip C. McKenna, president of McKenna Associates, Inc. community planning consultants to many communities in the Detroit area. “While Super Bowl organizers and volunteers deserve to take their bow, it’s time for the rest of us to pick up the torch.”
In addition to purchasing DIA memberships for each of his 43 employees, McKenna says he’ll also pick up the tab for employees’ guests to treat the DIA, whether they choose to take clients, friends or family members.
“As a planning firm, design is central to all that we do,” said McKenna. “Our planners and designers are connected to the arts, so it just makes sense that we tap into this outstanding resource we have in the DIA.”
McKenna says his hope is that more employees and other metro-Detroiters will reconsider Detroit’s educational, cultural, and entertainment offerings in the wake of the Super Bowl success. He says the company is contemplating other ways to support the City and its forward momentum.
